Senior quickwrite A Little Bit of Both: "YOUR fences?" and "Troy and Cory's Cycle of Dysfunction"

Hey Everyone! I'm back and ready to start blogging again. Today, I would like to share something really personal, mainly because I can't find my other quickwrite and I don't want to write it again. I actually don't want to share this at all either, but I need to get a good grade in this class, so please don't laugh at what I'm about to share with you guys. I would really appreciate that. I'm sorry if I'm repetitive because when I write without stopping, I'm not really thinking, so I don't know what I already wrote and what I'm writing at the moment. So I hope you like it.
I’ve been building my fences since I was about 3 or 4. I have many fences and most of them without a door or a gate. It all started when my parents divorced. I don’t remember much of that day, but from what my mom and dad said, it ended brutally with my mom throwing heavy objects at my dad as he was leaving the house.
Since then, I’ve been building my fences layer after layer, and now, it has become too high for me to see top. My fence keeps me from getting closer to others. I’m afraid that if I let someone get close to me, I will end up hurting them and pushing them away. I think the reason why I’m like this is because my childhood was a crappy one. I don’t want to end up like my parents, but with each year that passes living under my mom’s roof, I feel like I’m starting to be more like her.
It is human nature to mimic the people close to you, so I feel that I’m starting to copy her actions and I’m scared. I start getting mad for no reason. I yell at people over the stupidest reasons, even though in my heart I’m saying it’s no big deal. I start thinking the people around me are talking to me behind my back.
My mom is always picking fights with everyone and she doesn’t truly care about anyone but herself. I remember one time when I was about 7 or 8, or maybe younger. It was a long time ago, my sister and I were kicked out of the house and she left us there. She drove off, and we didn’t know where she went. It was getting dark and cold. We were hungry, so we tried to get the oranges off of our orange tree. Later, our aunt came to pick us up and she brought us to our grandparent’s house. Our mom was there and she started yelling at us, then she apologized to us eventually. This was all because we broke her lamp.
I never want to be like her, so I keep building my fences higher and higher until it suffocates me. I don’t let anyone get closer to me, so I keep them out and I keep how I truly feel inside and not let it out. I pretend that everything is okay when it’s not and I feel suffocated and I want to burst. I want to let people in, but I’m scared of hurting the people I care about, so I just build my fences faster and higher in the end.
After writing this paper, I feel like the weights on my shoulders have been lifted. Some part of my fence fell, and I got a whiff of fresh air. A slight breeze, but then I realize all that has happened, so I start building my fence again.
I hope you guys like this post. Well, not really, but I hope you guys are reading my posts. Thanks! See you next time! Until then, see ya!

A Response to Angela Zhou's Post

Hey Everyone! I’m back and this is my response post to Angela Zhou's Post. I hope you like it!

I can't stop laughing when I read Nathan's response post. He wrote:

Some people are scared of the darkness but I am not. I am not scared that people will rob me because I have tennis rackets to protect me.

I read this during lab class time. Then I  rush to Nathan's computer and mock him in front of Priscilla, Katherine and Stephy. And it turned out that all of us start laughing at Nathan. Yea that's what our friendship looks like.
This post is sooo funny Angela! You are right. This IS funny. And our friendship is basically that we like to make fun of Nathan. Sorry Nathan!! I remember Stephy was saying how Nathan can’t survive if it was between a tennis racket and a gun. If someone shot him, then there’s nothing a tennis racket can do so how can it protect him?! And if it was a knife, they can just cut the string and all that’s left is a metal racket with a big giant hole!

Nathan is sooo funny. It’s so much fun teasing him. Angela was right. Our friendship is filled with lots of teasing, especially when we gang up on Nathan. We have such a fun friendship. Don’t you agree Nathan?? I hope you don’t need the racket for protection because it won’t do you much good. You should switch to a sword and shield! XP That will provide you with protection AND a weapon! Isn’t that great?? ….Well, I guess not.

Ok guys. Thanks for reading this! I hope this turned out all right. I was up until 4 in the morning last night doing my 30 note cards for government. Then I woke up late this morning at 6:45, so I had to rush and get to school by 7. I am practically falling asleep now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if my blog didn’t make any sense. Oh wellz. I hope you guys come back next week! Until then, see ya!

Homecoming!! Part 2

Hey Everyone!! Welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking more about my homecoming. So I hope you guys like it. XD
So I think I left off with finding out that Michelle got her face painted by someone else, but she wouldn’t let me paint her face. I was shocked, but it’s okay because I got to paint someone else’s face. It’s so fun painting people’s faces because if you mess up, they end up looking funny. So then I went to class, and we just sat down to take roll, and then we were on our way to the pep rally.
Once I got there, I saw that everyone was excited and pumped up for the game that night. But most of them were probably just happy that class was shorter that day. I know I was. The freshie’s were so lame and were intimidated by everything. I remember I was when I was a freshie. But they weren’t even coordinated with their class color. They were SUPPOSE to be GRAY, but MRS. LARA decided to let them change their class color to YELLOW. How dare she do that! They don’t deserve to be a bright color. They should be gray, just like the previous years. Those freshies have some nerve trying to change things around here. They are new and yet they think they own this place. Every year I hate the new freshies. They have attitude problems and they think they are better than us. Well, anyway, back to homecoming. So we got in our stands with the rest of our class. I was so excited. I’ve been waiting for this moment since freshman year: To finally be a senior. I was ecstatic.
Well I reached my limit. So I guess I will leave you guys hanging until next week. Hope you liked it! Come back next week! Until then, see ya!

4.0 Quake Hits East Bay

Hey Everyone! Today, my current events post is 4.0 quake hits East Bay. I hope you like it! XD

I totally remember this! I was in Physiology and the room just shook!

Having earthquakes occur scare me to death! It is unexpected and I do not like the face that it shakes and we live in an area where we can actually feel the earthquake!

Oh my gosh, this is so scary to even think about this! It makes me feel like in the near, and I mean very near future.... a very huge earthquake will hit. I do not want this to happen like the one that happened in the past. That was so scary to even think about it even though I was not even born yet!

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake does not seem that big, but I mean, it is kind of shocking that we had an aftershock later last night!

Apparently, people say that it felt bigger than it was said to be measured, but I think it did not feel that strong.

If an earthquake of like the one in Japan hit, then I would really be scared for my life because that was a huge earthquake that did a lot of damage. This one that happened last night was not that bad, but it still scared me.

I guess it would be good since two earthquakes happened in one day, that everyone should be prepared for a very big. I think it is a sign that a huge earthquake is going to happen very soon.

I honestly think that an earthquake does not seem that harmless, but once it is a big one, it can be as deadly as a hurricane or a tsunami.

I hope you guys liked my post! Hope you come back soon! Until then, see ya!

Going For the Look

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to let you guys know that this is my first monthly essay this year. I'm really bad at writing essays so please let me know what I did wrong. I KNOW my structure is bad, so please don’t hold back on the comments. Thanks!

Explain Cohen's argument and discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with his analysis. Support your position, providing reasons and examples from your own experience, observations or reading. Your essay should be as well-organized and carefully written as you can make it.
Retailers defend the approach to hiring based on image as necessary and smart, and industry experts see the point. "In today's competitive retail environment, the methods have changed for capturing the consumer's awareness of your brand," said Marshal Cohen, a senior industry analyst with the NPD group, a market research firm. "Being able to find a brand enhancer, or what I call a walking billboard, is critical. It's really important to create an environment that's enticing to the community, particularly with the younger, fashionable market. A guy wants to go hang out in a store where he can see good-looking gals."

Explain Cohen's argument and discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with his analysis. Support your position, providing reasons and examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.

Retailers defend the approach to hiring based on image as necessary and smart, and industry experts see the point.” I agree with the point Marshal Cohen is trying to make about it being smart to hire people so that they can project “the image” to the people. But I don’t agree with his point when he says that “it is necessary”. It is possible to sell products, in this case: clothes, without having to only hire people that “fit the image”. Sure they can have advertisements with models and people that fit the image, but by hiring people that are skinny, tall, and have a pretty face, they risk losing customers that do not.
Companies shouldn’t only focus on the people that fit their image. They should also focus on the people that don’t fit their image. If they make cute trendy clothes and say that anyone can where them, but they only hire people that fit their image, then they are implying that only certain people can wear their clothes. If they focus on making clothes that literally anyone can wear, then they can still sell their clothes to many more people and hire anyone who is capable for the position rather than those who are pretty and trendy.
“It's really important to create an environment that's enticing to the community, particularly with the younger, fashionable market. A guy wants to go hang out in a store where he can see good-looking gals." I also don’t agree with this statement. People think that if they have pretty, young people working at the store, then that place must be popular because “everyone would want to go there”. Sure some guys want to go to the store and see some good-looking gals, but not all guys do. It’s just an excuse they use so they can hire good-looking people. The store probably is popular, but it’s probably driving away many potential customers. Those potential customers are the people that don’t fit the image and feel inferior to the workers and other people. Their target market is supposedly everyone because they say “anyone can wear their clothes” but they end up losing the people that don’t fit the image when they hire good-looking people.

Because they focus on “the look” they lose the potential customers of those who are too young, too old, not pretty enough, and those who don’t have a good figure or features. Even if the people are the right age, some or most don’t even fit their image. Each time they decide who fits the image and who doesn’t, their target market becomes smaller and smaller. If their goal is to get more people to come to the store and buy their clothes, then they are missing a good chunk of people.

I hope you guys liked this!! I know it SUCKS though...I'm really bad at writing essays. Well, hope you come back soon! Until then, see ya!

No Charges over De Anza Players' Alleged Gang Rape

Hey Everyone! This is my Current Events Post! Hope you like it! Here's the link: No Charges over De Anza Players' Alleged Gang Rape

I would like to say with this article that people who are raping girls are really stupid. Why are these college baseball players even at the same party as this seventeen year old girl? Why do people even rape? It just makes it sound like they just cannot control themselves. I agree that their behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable.

They deserve whatever they are sentenced for. The girl is 22 years old now, but that will scar her for the rest of her life! People these days do not think about the consequences and they do not think about who they are harming.

Our justice system is pretty horrendous; they let people get away with things so easily because they just want an easy way to get through the situation.

But at the same time, I think that obviously if there is alcohol involved of course there would be something that would happen to someone, whether it would be someone getting hurt or some drama or someone getting raped because people are out of control when they consume alcohol.

These people who committed this crime should be punished and our justice system should take this very crucially because if they want their community to be safe, and then do something about punishing these people!

And to put it all together that it was TEN men who raped her?! Are you serious?! Are these people out of their minds?!

Thanks for reading this guys! I hope you liked it! See you next time! Until then, see ya!

Homecoming!! Part 1

Hey Everyone!!! Today I want to talk about HOMECOMING! It was soooo much fun dressing up all in red because I am a SENIOR! I wore my senior shirt and sprayed my hair with red hair spray. I also have a red ribbon around my head. I used red face paint to make a line on each cheek. I also wore white shorts and red soccer socks.
When I got on the bus this morning, the bus driver was telling me this story about how this nurse from Chicago rides his bus every night. He tells him stories about what happens in the emergency room. The story the bus driver told me was about this guy that was shot. He was brought into the ER and the wife was crying. They did some tests and stuff and left the room for a minute. Soon after they heard a gunshot and went back in, they saw the wife had shot her husband. So the reason why she was crying was so she could get inside and make sure he was dead by shooting him. Yeah….that was random…back to homecoming.

So, in first period, all we were doing were playing A Minute to Win It. I was the first to play and WON! But I messed up right when it started. Afterwards, I was using my red face paint to make a 12 on my hand. Then I used it to make a line on each of Shuan’s cheeks. But then he said “What if I squirted this on your leg?” but he accidentally DID! I was soooo SHOCKED that he actually did that! So, he used the paint on my leg for his arm. He then went to the restroom, but came back with the whole bottom half of his face red! It made him look like he just ate raw meat. So, I painted the rest of his face red.
So later, I asked Michelle if I could paint her face since I'm such a GOOD artist...I guess she didn’t agree with me…she said no. But then I saw her with her face painted. I was MAD! She wouldn’t let me paint her face, but she let SOMEONE ELSE paint her face!
Ok, I past my 250 mark, so I am done….for now. I will continue with this next week! After I finish with my Homecoming story, I will continue my Mediterranean Cruise. So, Buh-Bye!
